Man, I loved this movie. I guess technically it’s a TV special - but imma refer to it as a movie. Entergalactic is such a special love story. First off, the animation is other worldly and captivating — enough to watch it back silently. I don’t watch romance films often, but I’ve seen enough to feel like I’ve seen them all . Entergalactic felt different…well it is different. It is authentic. It is charming. It is colorful in all ways. Plus, it is sprinkled with enough normal day shenanigans to form an attainable fairytale.

All characters — including the supporting ones — reflect real people. They sound like real people too, thank God. It feels like you’re watching your people on the big screen. Alls to say, the writing was *chefs kiss*.

The story portrays love as simple, accessible, and knowing. My current thoughts on love are: too tired to invest and not *quite* cynical enough to divest completely.

Despite this, the lover girl buried deep down inside came to the surface, smiled, and received the story being told. Because the reality is that beyond the trauma and the fatigue of the pursuing “your person” and/or “punan’s” perfect prince many of us want to believe love, easy and world shifting love, can and will happen.

Jabari @kidcudi and Meadow’s @msjwilly ability to follow the flow and water what’s undeniable is aspirational. It’s cool to show you care.

Definitely would recommend this movie. It’s fun,funny,dreamy, and sweet with enough edge and glittered grit to ground it.

Also, keep an eye out for the love story within the love story. Lucky for our protagonists they don’t need to navigate the complicated alone. What would we do without the people who tell us our mess is okay to exist before they help us clean it up?

I imagine I’ll watch this again one day. Perhaps, with a neighbor next door.
