One of the best movies I’ve seen in my life. I have a feeling I’ve watched it in other lives too.”Everything Everywhere All at Once”, captures the duality of life by seamlessly weaving together its profundity and absurdity. Writers and directors of the film, The Daniels, ask us to grapple with the non sensical, multidimensional, boundless, and malleable nature of our collective existence.
Every character in the film was entertaining and worthy of connection. Please note-the actors in this film ATE. Besides the obvious stand out performance from the legendary Michelle Yeoh and the man we’ll send our Father’s Day cards to — Ke Huy Quan — we must take a moment to recognize Stephanie Hsu. Hsu has RANGEEEE, okay?! Her movement, her vocal tone, her facial expressions, her iconic and slightly unsettling head tilt 👀 really sold it for me. Hsu — along with the entire cast — were playing so many versions of people within split seconds. It’s insane to witness that level talent and skill.
Everything Everywhere All at Once is funny, action packed, with a lot of heart. There was one moment I found a bit cheesy, but my reaction may speak more to my pessimism and occasional aversion to simple answers to complex questions than to the film itself. Perhaps like joy , I wasn’t quite ready to receive the love that we all inherently deserve and desire. The film itself is founded in a sci-fi action genre but, as the title alludes, it really does have a little bit of everything. Its a film for everyone while still having a very clear identity and artistic intention.
I need this film to get all the awards — especially the editors because … precision . Go watch the movie asap, see it in theaters .
